What comes to mind when you think of finishing interior basement walls? Many people think that all they have to do is put up drywall and that’s it. But unfortunately, in actual fact there is much more to do. Many different procedures are required in order to successfully frame the dividers in your cellar. There are also a couple choices available when thinking about how you want the dividers in your basement to look when you’re finished the job. The dividers could be framed and drywalled or you can stain the concrete basement to make it look better. Finishing the concrete using a stain is the simplest approach to complete your underbuilding walls and is also the cheaper alternative. Staining the concrete is the best way to make your walls a conversation piece and look unique.

Framing a basement can be a long, difficult and bothersome task because it includes hours and hours of constructing frames using two-by-fours. After the frames are constructed, they must then be safely fastened to the concrete substratum of your homestead. You have to then attach drywall on the frames using drywall screws. If that has all been done perfectly and you did not mess up, you can then fill the screw holes in with plaster and the crevices in between the sheets of drywall to create a smooth surface. Unfortunately, this is not the end of your work. You should sand the plaster down once it has dried to make sure the outside of the divider is completely smooth. The plastering and sanding work must be continued if you notice any other dips or splits in the walls. If you forget about this procedure, your walls will seem coarse once the paint dries.

Staining the concrete base of your homestead will change them from seeming boring and simple to welcoming and attractive. The staining procedure is very easy and every person with some amount of encouragement will finish the job without a problem. Two types of stain can be used to stain concrete: acrylic and acid. Acrylic stain is the better option if the concrete has a number of splits and holes because it fills them in better. Acid stain is often the more frequently used, but it won’t work as well if the concrete is old because there needs to be some lime still in the concrete for it to adhere properly.

Here are many other benefits of using acrylic stain. Firstly, it is available in a greater variety colours than acid stain does. Acid stain usually comes in a few shades of reds, blues and browns. If applied properly, acrylic stain makes walls seem significantly nicer because it works similar to a dye and helps hide any holes the walls have.
